Japan House is partnering with the Illinois Prairie Chapter of Ikenobo Ikebana to host two ikebana (Japanese flower arranging) workshops to enjoy Moms Weekend this year!
Attendees can enjoy an introductory lesson in ikebana (Japanese flower arranging), then they will be able to make their own ikebana arrangement to take home, including the vase. Afterward, guests will also receive a special wagashi to enjoy at home!
Reservations are required, no walk-ins or observers will be allowed due to limited space inside and the hands-on nature of the workshop. Two sessions are available: 12pm and 1:15pm.

About Illinois Prairie Chapter of Ikenobo Ikebana
Illinois Prairie Chapter is based in Champaign, IL. Community members seeking to study Japanese culture, Ikenobo Ikebana, and the flower way formed this study group in May 1991, under the guidance of Professor Emeritus Kimiko Gunji. Illinois Prairie Chapter holds many public workshops, exhibitions, and demonstrations, often in conjunction with special visiting professors. Their membership is diverse: local members and those from out of state; people from different countries and cultures; people of all ages, working or retired from a wide range of careers. Most of their members practice other artistic disciplines, such as painting, photography, and sculpture. They have all become gardeners!
