How can we counter misinformation and hear the stories of actual first-generation immigrant students? This keynote will center on Dr. Russell’s work to tackle immigration through story-telling, data, and myth busting. Dr. Russell will discuss her personal journey, her research agenda, and why it is so critical that we understand the diversity of the immigrant community. She will share her efforts to help us understand these stories, from the Higher Ed Immigration portal, to her new podcast, Intersections, as well as her groundbreaking book, Amplifying Black Undocumented Student Voices. A meet and greet book signing will follow the event.  

Dr. Felecia Russell will share her work to tackle immigration through story-telling, data, and myth busting, and the importance of understanding the diversity of the immigrant community. She will present a keynote talk and a workshop for faculty and staff about how to support undocumented students on campus.
