Faculty, staff, and students in the College of Media are invited to attend this year's Harry J. Skornia Distinguished Lectureship in Public Broadcasting.

Professor David O. Dowling from the University of Iowa School of Journalism and Mass Communication will present "Podcasting for Public Media: State-of-the-Art Exemplars & Cautionary Tales in a Volatile Digital Publishing Industry."

David Dowling’s work in digital media and journalism studies centers on developments in publishing industries that drive markets and cultural production. Podcast Journalism: The Promise and Perils of Audio Reporting is his latest book. Other works include Immersive Longform Storytelling: Media, Technology, Audience (2019) and The Gamification of Digital Journalism: Innovation in Journalistic Storytelling (2021).
