Join the Sustainable Design Program in having a conversation inspired by the practices and writings of Afrominimalist Christine Platt, author of "The Afrominimalist's Guide to Living with Less." Documenting her journey of overwhelming overconsumption, Christine Platt explores a lack of cultural inclusion in mainstream minimalism and presents a "radical revisioning of intentional living, one that celebrates the importance of history and heritage and give you permission to make space for what really matters... your way." All levels of engagement are welcome and we encourage those who have not read the book but are interested in Afrominimalism to join the conversation. "The Afrominimalist's Guide to Living with Less" by Christine Platt is available to purchase at major book retailers. Limited numbers of copies are available to borrow through the Champaign Public Library and the Sustainable Design Program. Contact Ashley Smart (acsmart@illinois.edu) to inquire about availability.
