Get ready to smash your pumpkins, Champaign County! Again this year, CCES & the Landscape Recycling Center (LRC) are hosting a FREE Pumpkin Smash (pumpkin composting collection) at the LRC, Saturday Nov. 2 from 11 AM to 3 PM. If you don't have a backyard compost pile & want to clear away your jack-o-lantern after Halloween, you can keep your pumpkins & decorative gourds out of the landfill where they would contribute to GHG emissions. Compost them at LRC to make a natural, rich soil amendment!
