We invite you to join the staff of the Women's Resources Center for a time of reflection, exploration and connection. We will be reading a beautiful book by Sonya Renee Taylor called The Body Is Not An Apology: The Power of Radical Self-Love. Sonya Renee Taylor is an award winning poet, activist, author and leader on racial justice, body liberation and transformational change. She takes us on a journey through violent systems, societal shame and radical self-love. She invites us to reconnect with our minds and bodies, and celebrate all bodies as a collective, enduring strength. If this sounds like something that resonates with you, we would love for you to join us in discussion.
The book club session will be hosted on Friday, November 15th from 4-5pm at the Women's Resources Center (616 E Green Street, Suite 213, Champaign, IL 61820).
If you are not able to read the entire book, you are still welcome to join us for discussion.
There are a limited number of free books available, please register early as they will be distributed on a first come, first serve basis. Books can be picked up at the Women's Resources Center as requested.
We look forward to connecting with you.
