Mark Hasegawa-Johnson will speak at the Beckman Institute's hybrid Director's Seminar at noon Thursday, Mar. 23. Hasegawa-Johnson, professor in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, will discuss the Speech Accessibility Project, a Beckman collaboration funded by Amazon, Apple, Google, Meta, and Microsoft. The project will make speech recognition more inclusive of diverse speech patterns. Lunch will be provided to in-person registrants. Please indicate whether you will attend virtually or in-person.
