The Supreme Court and the Future of Abortion Rights

Tuesday, March 1, 2022

12 - 1 pm

Room D, College of Law

On the Supreme Court’s docket this term is Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization, involving a challenge to a Mississippi law that bans most abortions after 15 weeks of pregnancy. Mississippi asks the Court to overturn Roe v. Wade (1973) and Planned Parenthood v. Casey (1992) and uphold its abortion ban. After the oral argument in Dobbs, many observers have concluded that the Court is poised to at least cut back on the right to abortion recognized in its precedents. Join a panel of experts to hear what the Court is likely to do in Dobbs, how the legal status of abortion will change as a result, and the broader implications for the Court and for the country.
