Women and Gender in Global Perspectives Program (WGGP)
The content that we put in the name "Storyteller" in our contemporary world
is restrictive of that which it took within traditional African societies.
Within the framework of this communication, it will be a question of looking
at the role and the place of the Storytellers in the process of
transmission, essentially oral, of endogenous knowledge in Africa, formerly.
As an illustration of the contribution of the Storytellers in the process of
disseminating our civilizational values, we will meet one of their Amadou
Hampâté BA, through his personal trajectory and his historical approaches.

The presentation will be pre-recorded in French with translation provided by
University of Illinois Assistant Professor Felisa V. Reynolds from the Department
of French and Italian followed by a live Q & A with Roukitou BA with English
translation by Professor Reynolds.
