Professor Gandhi will examine how the pandemic influenced inequalities in the world's largest democracies, the U.S. and India. What is the pandemic’s impact on ethnonationalism’s appeal in the two countries? How has it affected their relations with China and with each other? Attempting to answer these questions, the talk will also reflect on current equations within the populations of the U.S. and India.
