Callisto McNulty is the director of Delphine et Carole, insoumuses, a documentary about the relationship between feminist activist and actor Delphine Seyrig and the important feminist videographer and filmmaker Carole Roussopoulus. This exceptional film merges new footage with archival excerpts from its protagonists’ work in European film, television, and video.

 

 

Nicole Fernandez Ferrer is the director of the Centre Audiovisuel Simone de Beauvoir, an institution established in Paris by Carole Roussopolous, Delphine Seyrig and Ioana Weider in 1982 in order to promote women’s filmmaking and activism. For over seventeen years, Fernandez Ferrar has been at the helm of this institution dedicated to the preservation and promotion of audiovisual documents created by and for women.

 

 

Tamara Chaplin is a scholar of Contemporary France, gender, sexuality, and the media and Associate Professor of Modern European History at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. Chaplin’s first book explored the televising of philosophy in postwar France. Her second monograph, Cabarets to Counterpublics: Female Same-Sex Intimacy and the French Public Sphere, 1930-2013, will be published by the University of Chicago Press in 2021.
