Join Professor Emeritus Shozo Sato for a Sunday afternoon class on Sumi-e, or Japanese Black Ink Painting. Explore the practice of sumi-e as part of Rinzai Zen philosophy, and learn about black ink painting from the vision of a Tea Master.
This will be a hands-on class. It is for students who have an interest in learning this traditional art form, but no experience is necessary. All materials will be supplied. Tickets are $25, with no special pricing for students or Tomonokai members. *Space is limited to 10 participants.
Sumi-e classes for Fall 2019 are offered on the following Sundays: Nov 3, Nov 17, Dec 1, Dec 8.
*Classes will be cancelled if a minimum of 6 students have not reserved tickets by the morning of the class. Refunds will be given if class is cancelled.
