Saturday Engineering for Everyone: Will a computer ever be more creative than a human?

Illinois ECE Saturday Engineering for Everyone

In this talk, ECE ILLINOIS assistant professor Lav Varshney will describe several computational creativity systems that we have built, in domains including music, engineering processes, culinary, and building materials, as well as explore the future of hybrid systems that build on the capabilities of both human and machine creativity. He will also describe a mathematical theory of creativity to establish the fundamental limits of how creative any system can be.
