We invite you to a seminar entitled "Illuminating Interfacial Mechanics: Applying New Tools to Old Questions." Prof. Chelsea Davis from the Materials Engineering department at Purdue University will be presenting her research in an AVS Seminar on Friday, March 29 from noon to 1:00pm in MSEB 119 (see attached poster for more details). Her seminar will focus on two very different polymer interfaces and the strategies her group applies to characterize their debonding behavior. All faculty, postdocs, and students are welcome to attend this exciting seminar, and pizza and soda will be provided!

Brief Biography on Prof. Chelsea Davis:

Chelsea Davis received a B.S. in Textile Engineering from North Carolina State University in 2005. She obtained her M.S. and Ph.D. in Polymer Science and Engineering from the University of Massachusetts Amherst in 2007 and 2012, respectively. While at UMass, Dr. Davis was an NSF-IGERT Graduate Fellow. Her doctoral dissertation focused on the use of surface instabilities for adhesion control. From 2012-2013, Dr. Davis then completed a Michelin Postdoctoral Research Fellowship at the ESPCI in Paris. She went on to complete an NRC Postdoctoral Fellowship in the Polymers and Complex Fluids Group at the National Institute of Standards and Technology from 2013-2015. Dr. Davis is currently an Assistant Professor in the School of Materials Engineering at Purdue University.
