This project restores 1930s Japanese paper films and brings them to life for modern audiences. The event will feature a short lecture from Dr. Eric Faden of Bucknell University about the history and technique of the art form. It will be followed by a screening of 28 short films with the live musical accompaniment of koto/shamisen player Yoko Reikano Kimura and cellist Hikaru Tamaki. This event is co-sponsored by the Center for East Asian and Pacific Studies, the School of Music, and the Humanities Research Institute.
