UIUC PDH Events for Educators

An in-person series of activities designed to increase educators' knowledge of place-based connections and stewards along Lake Michigan. Presentations from partners from the Chicago Ornithological Society, Alliance for the Great Lakes, and members of the Great Lakes Educators of Aquatic and Marine Science (GLEAMS). Educators will observe spring migrant and resident birds, learn how to lead an Adopt‑A‑Beach cleanup, and explore an interactive Lake Michigan watershed lesson.

The guided bird walk will be led by the Chicago Ornithological Society. The hands‑on beach cleanup will be led by the Alliance for the Great Lakes. Illinois-Indiana Sea Grant will partner with GLEAMS to lead the watershed lesson.
