Express advising is an opportunity to briefly meet with an academic advisor to resolve time-sensitive issues. This time will be in-person only, in our offices at the 614 E. Daniel St. building. Please know that the queue will not open until the start time and appointments will be first-come, first served.
When you arrive, you will need to scan the QR code to join the queue. The queue will open at the start time and will close if enough students have joined the queue that we can reasonably manage. You are encouraged to return for the next allotted date and time should the queue close prior to the closing time for advising.
These 5–10-minute appointments are ideal for topics such as:
- Registration issues
- Quick schedule checks (not full course planning)
- Forms, policies, and procedures
- Brief ICT questions/review of a course plan previously completed by the student
- Urgent issues you are dealing with that are time-sensitive
- Graduation Checks - if it only requires registering for a course before the add/drop deadline (*extremely brief discussion, students should view their DARS/Audit Reports before the advising appointment, to limit time needed during Express Advising)
Express Advising is NOT the time to talk about:
- Course planning for future terms
- Dual degree paperwork
- Study Abroad Course Approvals
- Other topics that will require a longer conversation than 5 minutes will allow (full graduation checks, etc.)
*To schedule a regular, full-length appointment, visit: https://go.ischool.illinois.edu/UGadvisingappointment when full length advising appointments are available.
Thank you!
