Bruce J. Tromberg, the director of the National Institute of Biomedical Imaging and Bioengineering at the National Institutes of Health, will give the Beckman-Brown Lecture on Interdisciplinary Science at 3 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 4, in the auditorium of the Beckman Institute.
The talk will be titled, "Accelerating Innovation and Technology Development through Engineering – Medicine Partnerships." A reception will follow.
Before the lecture, Beckman is hosting a poster contest for graduate students and postdocs from 12:30-2:30 p.m. in the Beckman Atrium. Then at 2:30 p.m. in the auditorium, the institute will honor its Vision and Spirit Award and Spirit and Dedication Award winners, as well as the winner of its robotic arm naming contest.
The poster contest winner will be announced during the reception following the lecture at about 4:30 p.m.
