This workshop will give you hands-on experience using TorchGeo for geospatial deep learning. TorchGeo is a PyTorch domain library, similar to torchvision, providing datasets, samplers, transforms, and pre-trained models specific to geospatial data. The goal of this library is to make it simple:
Prerequisites: Basic familiarity with Python and Jupyter.
Instructor Bio: Adam J. Stewart's research interests lie at the intersection of machine learning and Earth science, especially remote sensing. He is the creator and lead developer of the popular TorchGeo library, a PyTorch domain library for working with geospatial data and satellite imagery. His current research focuses on building foundation models for multispectral imagery. He received his B.S. from the Department of Earth and Atmospheric Sciences at Cornell University and his Ph.D. from the Department of Computer Science at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. He currently works as a postdoctoral researcher at theTechnical University of Munich under the guidance of Prof. Xiaoxiang Zhu.
Hands-on participation: We will use Jupyter notebooks for hands-on demonstrations.
