Vocational rehabilitation counselors play a vital role in the transition out of high school and into employment for people with disabilities. The Lunch and Learn is designed to educate vocational rehabilitation counselors on the basics of employment-focused transition programs, including understanding how counselors can participate in Individualized Education Programs (IEP), help facilitate effective Secondary Transitional Experience Program (STEP) programs, and other related transition programs. Dr. David G. Strauser will also discuss recent research conducted that helps explain strengths and challenges when implementing transition programs in Illinois.
