Join us for dinner and a lecture given by Dr. Jerome Galea. This lecture explores the rapidly evolving field of Global Mental Health over the past decade. It examines the reasons behind limited access to mental health services worldwide in the context of the increasing global burden of mental illness leading to the "mental health treatment gap." The presentation will highlight key priorities and strategies to address this gap, including expanding mental health services through trained non-specialist providers; the use of digital mental health tools; and, structural interventions. Finally, the future prospects of Global Mental Health will be discussed in the context of challenges posed by constrained global health funding.
