Physics - Mathematical and Theoretical Physics Seminar

In many respects, the black hole interior is an uncharted territory. General relativity points to its existence while quantum theory is still undecided. In this work, we take a figurative and literal step towards the interior. Underlying this is the T\overline{T} deformation which was argued to be dual to moving the boundary to a finite radius in the bulk. By a sequence of related deformations on a boundary theory admitting a dual bulk description with black holes, we first move the boundary to the horizon and then into the interior. We provide evidence for this by matching the energy on either side of the duality in cases where the interior energy is computable and discuss work in progress allowing one to compute interior correlation functions purely from the boundary.
