About the Speaker
Professor Robin D G Kelley is a distinguished Gary B. Nash Professor of American History and an award-winning author. His research spans the history of social movements in the U.S., the African Diaspora and Africa, black intellectuals, music, visual culture, Surrealism, and Marxism. He has published extensively and in a variety of professional journals. His 13 books include Freedom Dreams: The Black Radical Imagination (2002) and Africa Speaks, America Answers: Modern Jazz in Revolutionary Times (2012).
