Abstract:

Computational and mathematical modeling have become critical tools to understand biomedical disease progression and predict effective treatments. In this talk, I will introduce two developed modeling approaches for biomedical diseases: one is pathophysiology-driven modeling, and the other is data-driven modeling. I will also discuss future directions and open questions within this modeling framework, offering insights into predictive medicine.

Bio:

Dr. Hao is an Associate Professor in the Department of Mathematics at Penn State University. His research focuses on computational modeling in biomedical diseases, and he serves as the Principal Investigator for several grants from the National Science Foundation (NSF) and the National Institutes of Health (NIH). Dr. Hao has contributed to over 60 manuscripts, both as an author and coauthor, covering topics such as mathematical and computational modeling of diseases, as well as parameter investigations in biological systems.
