Dan Sweetwood, President, and CEO of Allied PhotoChemical, is a dynamic business leader known for his technical sales prowess and fervent dedication to fostering vibrant company cultures. With over 18 years at the helm of Allied, he has steered the company from inception to becoming an industry trailblazer in Ultraviolet Cured (UV) industrial coatings.
Under Dan's stewardship, Allied PhotoChemical has garnered accolades for its unwavering commitment to sustainability and the establishment of a robust corporate culture, securing a noteworthy 6th position in Crain’s prestigious Best Places to Work survey. The company's hallmark lies in formulating high-speed industrial coatings catering to diverse applications including pipe and tube coatings, cosmetic packaging, aluminum beverage cans, pressurized tanks, and appliances.
Dan's journey commenced with a General Engineering degree from UIUC in 1995, followed by a Master’s in Finance from Walsh College in 2005. His career initiation at Rockwell Automation in a technical sales role propelled him across cities—Milwaukee, Cleveland, and finally settling in the Detroit area, where he has called home since 1997.
Beyond the boardroom, Dan shares a heartwarming 26-year partnership with his wife, Diane, kindled during his college days in Champaign. Together, they are proud parents nurturing their two children, who consume most of their time, energy, and treasure. Together they enjoy traveling, cooking, and mentoring pre-married couples as they prepare to tie the knot.
