Join the WRC and WGGP as we discuss ""Period: The Real Story of Menstruation" by UIUC Professor Kate Clancy! We'll be exploring issues surrounding menstruation, from bodily autonomy, menstrual hygiene, and the COVID-19 vaccine to the ways racism, sexism, and medical betrayal warp public perceptions of menstruation and erase it from public life.
Discussion will take place on Monday, October 2 and Monday, October 9 at 4 pm at the WRC. On October 13, Dr. Kate Clancy will discuss the book at the WRC at 3:30 pm.
Limited copies of the book are available on a first come, first serve basis by request. Additional copies will be made available for purchase at a discount. Request yours here: https://forms.illinois.edu/sec/2094831638
This event is being held in recognition of Period Action Day on October 14.
This event is co-sponsored by Women and Gender in Global Perspectives at Illinois and the Women's Resources Center.
