Quantum computers are an exciting next-generation technology that may revolutionize our understanding of science—including physics, chemistry, and materials—and impact industries from pharmaceuticals to manufacturing.

In this talk, I will explain the state-of-the-art in quantum computing. I will also share recent research on quantum computing using atoms, light, and superconductors at UIUC.

Finally, I will discuss the new Illinois Quantum and Microelectronics Park, which is a first of its kind facility for scaling up quantum computing to utility scale.
