Wear & Repair: Clothing Mending Workshop

Don’t throw it away, fix it! This hands-on workshop teaches participants how to extend the life of their garments through both practical and creative repair techniques. Participants will learn to embrace imperfections, transforming rips, holes, and missing buttons into unique design features. This workshop covers the basics of visible mending, darning, patching, and essential sewing skills for long-term clothing sustainability.

By the end of this workshop, participants will be able to:

Identify the best repair method for different types of fabric damage.

Patch holes in woven fabric

Apply decorative visible mending stitches to cover stains or small holes.

Darn sweaters and knitwear

Securely replace buttons on various garments.

Hand sewing kits will be provided.
