In celebration of NIRSA's Recreational Sports and Fitness Day, Campus Recreation is excited to host the first annual Adaptive Rec Day! The first 125 students, faculty, and staff will receive a free tee shirt! Drop in for activities in ARC Gym 2 to learn about adaptive rec by playing alongside U. of I. wheelchair athletes.
- 11am: wheelchair football
- 12pm: wheelchair basketball
- 1pm: panel
- 2pm: sitting volleyball
Then, attend an industry panel in ARC MP6 at 1pm. Enjoy free food while listening to a panel of disability experts and adaptive athletes, including:
- Steph Wheeler, former Team USA athlete/coach and current Head Coach of U. of I. Women's Wheelchair Basketball
- Adam Bleakney, former Team USA athlete/coach and current Head Coach of U. of I. Men's and Women's Wheelchair Track and Road Racing
- Martrell Stevens, member of the US U23 team and current U. of I. Men's Wheelchair Basketball player
- Susannah Scaroni, American Paralympic medalist, track and field
