Join us for a fun night of performances dedicated to celebrating Black queerness within Black History Month. We are welcoming students to perform all forms of talent such as rapping, singing, spoken word, dance etc. Light refreshments will be provided.
Mikey Cody Apollo (she/they) is a self-published Black queer woman writer, educator, filmmaker and spoken word artist from Milwaukee, Wisconsin. This past October, Apollo presented a workshop at the 2024 Midwest Bisexual Lesbian Gay Transgender Asexual College Conference (MBLGTACC) titled, “The Art of (Be)longing: Queer Love Poetry, Literature, and Media” which centered queer expressions of love via literature and media that invited students to write their own love poems."
