Title: Complex and arithmetic singularities
Abstract: We will start by discussing how algebra, number theory, geometry, and analysis come together in studying the convergence of certain basic integrals. This will naturally lead us to various problems in the theory of singularities, including the famous direct summand conjecture about arithmetic singularities, and the study of Hodge-theoretic invariants of complex singularities.
