Title: Computation of Gromov-Witten Invariants via Virtual Localization
Abstract: In this talk, I will begin by presenting a toy model of the virtual localization formula. Then, I will apply virtual localization to compute two well-known genus 0 Gromov-Witten invariants: the number of lines passing through two points in P^2 and the number of lines in a quintic threefold. If time permits, I will discuss the formula for higher-genus (twisted) Gromov-Witten invariants of projective spaces and outline the general strategy for computing higher-genus Gromov-Witten invariants of hypersurfaces.
