Title: Nearby and Vanishing Cycles for Perverse Sheaves

Abstract: I will first introduce nearby and vanishing cycles with applications in Milnor fibers. Then I will proceed to nearby and vanishing cycles for perverse sheaves, and describe perverse sheaves as gluing data of these cycles. As an application, I will talk about the Cattani-Kaplan-Schmid Complex with examples.
