Title: Towards Curve Counting Invariants IV: Gopakumar–Vafa invariants through perverse sheaves
Speaker: Zijing Ye
Abstract: Originating from physics, the GV curving counting invariants are defined in mathematics for some cases through perverse sheaves. In this talk, I will first briefly introduce local systems and the decomposition theorem in the theory of perverse sheaves. And then give the definition of GV invariants using perverse sheaves. Lots of examples and calculations will be provided in the talk to help understand the concepts. If time permits, I will introduce a more general definition of GV invariants with d-critical loci and vanishing cycles.
