Title: An Introduction to the Foundations of Gromov-Witten Invariants (Part I): Virtual Fundamental Class via Perfect Obstruction Theory
Speaker: Ruoxi Li
Abstract: Gromov-Witten invariant is one of the most important enumerative invariants that have deep roots in physics. I will briefly mention the related string theory and recall the construction of intersection products. Then I will introduce the intrinsic normal cone, the perfect obstruction theory, and the construction the virtual fundamental class.
