International Safety & Security hosts frequent Program Leader Safety and Best Practices Workshops during the school year. The workshop guides program leaders (faculty, staff, or students leading programs) in preparing for the safest possible experience abroad. This workshop also provides a unique opportunity to discuss questions or concerns with our staff and other program leaders. Those who lead, or assist, short-term education abroad or other University-related travel abroad for students must attend at least one workshop a year.
Our regularly scheduled workshops are on hold for Summer Break, and will resume for Fall Term 2025. If you are in need of a training, we are happy to work with you to schedule a workshop for you and/or your group. Please contact us at safetyabroad@illinois.edu to set this up.
