Research Park Events

Between Monday, July 10, and Wednesday, July 26, join Research Park in serving the greater Champaign-Urbana community through a school supply drive. We are working with Sue Feldman from Champaign Central High School to provide backpacks and school supplies to international students in the English as a Second Language (ESL) class. Many students come to this class unaccompanied, with low literacy levels and few resources to adjust to American culture.

Bring school supplies and new or gently used backpacks to a Research Park-wide donation box at EnterpriseWorks, or compete with other Research Park/EnterpriseWorks companies by using a company-specific box. Boxes are available for pick-up in EnterpriseWorks room 115 on Monday, July 10, Tuesday, July 11, or Wednesday, July 12 from 11:00-2:00 PM.

Competition Guidelines

  • Each supply is worth a certain number of points: backpacks are 10 points, calculators are 5 points, and other high-school-level school supplies (see below list for suggestions) are 1 point.
  • The team with the most points will win a pizza lunch and Research Park swag.
  • Boxes must be returned to EnterpriseWorks room 115 on Monday, July 24 between 11:00-2:00 PM.
  • If pick-up and drop-off times do not work for you, please reach out to the emails below to arrange an alternative time.

Recommended School Supplies: three-ring binders, 2-pocket folders, lined paper, spiral notebooks, reuseable water bottles, pencil cases, pens/pencils, eraser tops, small pencil sharpeners, scissors, glue sticks, colored pencils, rulers
