An Introduction to Geometry in Physics
Since Newton’s breakthrough, mathematicians have examined classical mechanics in terms of modern theories of space. The result is a series of mathematical pictures of the world we see. I will introduce the Lagrangian and Hamiltonian formulations of mechanics, with emphasis on the geometric structures in which they are phrased.
