The Mathematics Development Advisory Board (MDAB) initiated a project some time ago to create math-related videos accessible to a wide audience. The Department established a collaboration with the College of Fine Arts to produce a video featuring Zoi Rapti and the 'Mathematics of the Pandemic.' The production is being carried out as a project by an undergraduate class in the School of Media, led by Victor Font, an instructor from the Media School.

The video will be recorded with a live audience next Wednesday, October 18, at 5:30 pm, in a rather unconventional classroom known as the 'Round Classroom,' located in Room 2035 of the new Campus Instructional Facility building (corner of Wright Street and Springfield Ave). The room's capacity is 180 people, and we aim to fill up the room to ensure we capture a substantial audience. We invite all faculty, graduate students, and staff to attend this recording session.

A Pizza Social will follow the first recording, at 6 pm, in CIF 2039, adjacent to the Round Classroom. You are welcome to bring a partner or friend.

For those of you who have young children but would like to come: we will have some kid's activities and adult supervision in CIF 2039 during the filming and talk.

This promises to be a fun activity and a great opportunity to socialize with other members of the department outside our working hours, in a relaxed environment, while learning about Zoi's work. We look forward to seeing you there!
