Renormalized volume in hyperbolic geometry
Abstract: In this talk I'll introduce the concept of renormalized volume for conformally compact hyperbolic manifolds. We will discuss applications for uniformization and for isoperimetric problems (i.e. the question of minimizing perimeter for a given volume). This is based on joint work with Martin Bridgeman and Ken Bromberg, and on joint work with Celso Viana.
