Title: Cycles on the moduli space A_g of abelian varieties

Abstract: I will present a series of new conjectures concerning Noether-Lefschetz loci and the tautological ring of the moduli space A_g of principally polarized abelian varieties. the main new tool used to study these cycles is pull-back via Torelli to the moduli space of curves of compact type. The ideas interweave questions about tautological classes on A_g with Pixton's conjectures on the moduli of genus g curves of compact type. Joint work with S. Canning and D. Oprea.
