Join the Critical Cybernetics Cluster for a talk by Sergio Rodríguez Gómez (PhD candidate, Comunicación, Lenguajes e Información, Pontificia Universidad Javeriana, Bogotá, Colombia) on the role of visual thinking in cybernetics. Rodríguez Gómez will discuss the images used by biologists Humberto Maturana and Francisco Varela in their publications, including sketches, simulations, visual metaphors, technical images, data visualizations and even doodles used by Maturana and Varela to think and to communicate their theories on autopoiesis, natural drift, structural coupling, emergence, and enactivism.
Please note you can attend in person (Russell Room 2049, Natural History Building) or on Zoom. Registration is only required for Zoom.
