Roberson Alphonse, visiting lecturer at the Medill School of Journalism at Northwestern University and head of national news at Le Nouvelliste in Haiti, will present The Price to Pay to Uphold Press Freedom and Democracy. Alphonse is an accomplished Haitian media professional with over two decades of experience in investigative journalism, print journalism, and television and radio hosting. Known for his courage and commitment to truth and justice, he is head of national news at Le Nouvelliste newspaper, newsroom director at Magik 9, and producer of the Dèye Kay program on Tele 20. For Le Nouvelliste, Alphonse has particularly distinguished himself through his in-depth reporting on sensitive subjects, including corruption, human rights, and socio-political crises in Haiti. His work often highlights the challenges facing the country, while giving a voice to the marginalized.
