Join Ross Wantland from the Office of the Vice Chancellor for Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion, and Margarita Garcia Rojas, We CU’s Trainings Specialist, as we explore how racism and social injustice can manifest in service-learning classrooms. This training will also help students develop strategies for promoting anti-racism in their own volunteer and service work. Students will learn about:
- The different forms of racism
- The history and impact of racism in their communities
- How to critically examine their own biases and assumptions
- How to center the voices and experiences of the communities they are serving
- How to create a safe and inclusive space for learning
Space is limited, so register today. For more information, contact We CU at We-CU@illinois.edu
