Grammy-award nominee Cheick Hamala Diabate is recognized as one of the world's masters of the Ngoni, a Malian traditional instrument. He is a West African historian in the Griot tradition. A sought-after performer, lecturer, storyteller and choreographer throughout Africa, Europe, Asia and North America Cheick Hamala has performed at venues such as the Smithsonian Institution and the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts.
