Fixed-node methods are commonly used to alleviate sign problem in quantum Monte Carlo. In this tutorial styled ipad talk, I will give an overview of Diffusion Monte Carlo and fixed node Hamiltonian constructions. I will talk about the differences between lattice and the continuum formulations. For my project, I solve hamiltonian eigenvalue problem self consistently (commonly known as non linear eigenvalue problem with eigenvector dependency), subject to different initial conditions and analyse the stability of the fixed points of this iteration. I believe the methods used to derive the results are simple and interesting and a pedagogical overview of that would be helpful to everyone.
