Sabina Ribeiro is an Associate Professor in the Center for Biological and Natural Sciences (CCBN) at the Federal University of Acre (UFAC) and is the vice-coordinator of the Master Program in Forest Science at UFAC. She has a PhD in Forest Management and experience in conducting projects that promote forest conservation and the empowerment of local communities, especially extractivists. Her work includes capacity building of local communities to sustainable use natural resources and also knowledge dissemination about climate change causes, forms of mitigation and adaptation. She develops long-term systematic monitoring of forests and assessment of carbon stock in natural and planted forests. Dr. Ribeiro was also part of the first cohort of the Program Fulbright Amazonia (2023-2024).
