As part of iSEE's larger two-day Critical Conversation, Pierre Béland, Canadian Chair for the International Joint Commission (IJC), will give a keynote address, "Climate (In)Securities in the Great Lakes: Insights from Across the U.S.-Canada Transboundary." The IJC assists governments with oversight of U.S.-Canada boundary waters, including water quality and ecosystem health. Béland has worked as a scientist in environmental ecology and the impact of toxic manmade chemicals in the Great Lakes/St. Lawrence food chains, and also hosted a TV series and participated in documentaries on the subject.
