In this workshop, you will learn the basic definitions for various LGBTQ+ identities, tips for supporting LGBTQ+ clients in mental health and health care settings. The basics of pronouns. Explore intersectionality and the various ways intersecting identities could be affecting your clients. Practice with case study scenarios.
Learning Objectives:
- Participants will be able to identify and create understanding around ways intersecting identities affect LGBTQ+ clients.
- Participants will be able to learn best practices for using various pronouns and how to correct themselves in ways that don't over burden the client when they make mistakes.
- Participants will learn various practices they can implement in care settings to make their spaces more inclusive and welcoming to LGBTQ+ clients.
