In today’s technology-centered job market, there is a high demand for information professionals. By earning a B.S. in Information Sciences (BSIS) from the iSchool, students will gain a competitive edge. Our interdisciplinary, STEM-designated degree will prepare students for careers in a variety of fields.

Students will learn how to manage data and other types of information to help organizations achieve their goals. They’ll become information technology experts who understand the human perspective, social context, and policy implications. Applications are very competitive, and spots are limited.

 BS/IS students are:

  • Passionate about big data and implication of data on people
  • Drawn to understand the impact of information and technology on people
  • Express interest in learning various programming languages
  • Learn from faculty members who apply interdisciplinary approaches

BS in Information Sciences:

  • Design information systems and services 
  • Organize, manage, and evaluate information for diverse users
  • Interpret data for real-world application and collaboration 
  • Design solutions using emerging technologies while addressing user preferences
  • Lead teams that use information to address critical individual, organizational, & societal needs 
  • Develop skills that identify emerging trends related to technology, information, and people
